The official announcement of the Lansing Network was done on our company blog. The basic gist of it all is this: There are a lot of amazing things about Lansing and there are some things that are not so great. With the Lansing Network, we want to highlight the things that are great and help improve the parts that aren't. And we plan to do this using the talents we've been given throught the web.
There are some amazingly terrible Lansing-based websites. There are some good ones and some valuable ones. We want to use the web to connect people with people, people with businesses, and motivate and organize people to positive action in the City of Lansing.
To do this, we have planned out a litany of websites by which we can connect with people on various levels - news, community sites, business sites, etc. By working to organize, clarify, and consolidate information on the web in ways that Lansing finds valuable, we hope to gain the public's support in bringing about positive change.
It is our firm belief that Lansing can be a great city with low to zero unemployment, top tier education and learning programs, and world-class innovation that propels us forward into a bright new future. So here we go... we will be rolling out our launch over the rest of the year and, God willing, be in full swing by January, 2012!
